I didn't play last two years...because I was working in Europe and Asia. But, used to play before that.

-3 Divisions
Roster Positions
23 roster spots
Hitting (10): C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF, RF, Util, Util
Pitching (8): SP, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, P
Bench (5): BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL
There are specific outfield spots (LF/CF/RF) instead of just 3 OF, because I don't think you can have a distinction between a 2B and a SS and not a have a distinction between the outfielders.
Scoring for Batting Categories
H: .75
1B, 2B, 3B, HR: 1-4
AB: -.25
BB: 1.5
SO: -.75
HBP: 1
R: 1
RBI: 1
SB: 2
CS: -1
GIDP: -1
Every single plate appearance has a specific value. If a batter gets....
A single (H+1B+AB) = 1.5 total points
A walk = 1.5 total points
A double (H+2B+AB) = 2.5 total points
A triple (H+3B+AB) = 3.5 total points
A home run (H+HR+AB) = 4.5 total points
A ground out, fly ball, or if the batter reaches base on a fielder's choice or error = - 0.25 total points
A strikeout (SO+AB) = -1 total point
A hit by pitch (HBP) = 1 total point
Examples:
0/7 with 5 strikeouts (Ryan Howard last year lol) = -5.5 points
0/5 with 1 strikeout = -2 points
2/4 with 2 singles, 2 runs, 2 RBI, 1 walk = 8 points
2/2 with 2 doubles, 3 runs, 3 walks = 12.5 points
3/5 with 2 home runs, 3 runs, 1 double, 4 RBI = 20 points
4/4 with 4 runs, 4 home runs, 6 RBI (Carlos Delgado in 2003) = 28 points.
Basically scoring for hitters daily will fluctuate between -6 (worst possible outing) and 30 points (historic day).

Like the points system but I wouldnt make it this complicated personally. Just two changes to hitting I would make:
AB - no reason to take points away for at bats in my opinion - I would eliminate the
.25 personally. Many times guys make productive outs advancing runners.
BB - rated too highly - should be 1 - just like a single. You seem to value Walks
way too much. A crappy 8th hitter getting an intentional walk to face the
pitcher shouldnt get more than a guy who actually gets a hit
As for pitching... something like this perhaps.........
Wins 4 pts
QS 3 pts
CG 4 pts
cg Shutout 8 pts
Loss -3 pts
Save 3 pts
Holds 1 pt
ERs -1 pt
BBs -.5
HBP -.5
Blown Save -1 pt
innings pitched 1 pt
hits allowed -1 pt

When do you guys want to draft?
I kinda want to start right away, but then again some people prefer to draft in March to avoid taking players who get injured in spring training and to evaluate young, up-and-coming players.
