Pretty happy to win 7-3 against Sac. Maybe Gonzo has finally gotten out of his funk

Agree. Kinda stunned me to see that deal.

Couldn't muster a frickin' run today. Embarrassing. Your pitching put in work though, nice week John.

Thanks Sac. Got lucky with your team having a tough hitting day today.

I think it made sense for both of us, but I'm obviously happy with my return. He needed a first baseman, and I needed a top-tier pitcher. We've been negotiating a deal for awhile now, and what started out as LaHair-Scherzer turned into this deal. I think Scherzer is better than LaHair, but I didn't think Scherzer would be enough to help my weak pitching staff. Names like Votto, Weaver, Pablo were thrown out there as well, but in the end we decided on this deal.
After it's all said and done, I got to keep Joey Votto and was able to land CC Sabathia. I really like Billy Butler and the young SP Jarrod Parker, but this deal was hard to pass up. I still have solid 1B depth with Freeman, LaHair and Kendrys Morales behind Joey Votto. Now hopefully Howie Kendrick can start to produce also.

gotta admit as soon as Weaver landed on the DL I wished I had dealt him for Votto earlier
but yes, I know I look like the loser in the trade but I felt I needed an upgrade at 1B even with Pablo returning because my starter at 3B is Jed freaking Lowrie. It was between Parker and Moore as far as me getting a SP back and I took Parker because he's the ace in his staff and I don't feel like waiting for Moore to turn it around, neither would had been a keeper for me with the other names in my roster. Just like last year with Cargo in the dynasty league, this year I got sick of Kendrick being mediocre.
With Pablo and Jennings coming back now I'm looking at
C - Pierzynski
1B - Butler
2B - Altuve
SS - Gordon (please stay hot: 7/21, .364/.381, 2 NSB last 7 days)
3B - Pablo
OF - Hamilton
OF - Jennings
OF - Suzuki
Util - Lowrie
Util - Dirks
obviously it sucks to have Weaver go in the DL right after trading CC, but I still have Wilson and Santana dealing while Hammel has been a nice surprise and Scherzer has been pretty damn good over the last month: 3.94 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 3 W's and QS and 45K's in 30 IP ... LaHair, on the other hand, has been below average these last 2 weeks

^ I shouldve made an offer for Dee when I had the chance lol
lol at the matchup between jrg and I
I know its early, but Im winning ERA with 6.87, whip with 1.85
picked up Rickie Weeks. I know hes struggling terribly, but hes got to eventually turn it around. too good of a hitter the last few years to not

you caught a break too with the trade taking away a start from one of my SP's and Weaver going down, but you had a good week nonetheless

My team has been under performing all year...finally everyone did their jobs, and my pitching finally did something.

my boy Parker flirted with that no no
just came up short though.
I'd say Beane made a damn good trade getting Parker AND Ryan Cook for Cahill who has been very average this year
