10 Teams, QB Heavy (6 pt p/passing TD) no PPR
AP/D.Avery for Gore/G.Jennings
I have nice depth at RB and no play makers at WR:
-D Williams, R Bush, W Parker
-Holmes, Ochocinco, Avery, Ginn, Meachem, Bruce
Could I pull it off with a weaker WR, like AP/Ginn?

I would try something like that first ... its a large dropoff from AP to Gore

I take it you want Gore pretty bad. Otherwise you could try a Bush/avery Bush/Ginn for a solid WR or Parker/Avery or Parker/Ginn
Doing your trade, The advantage you gain at WR could very easily be less than the advantage you lost at RB.

The advantage you gain from Donnie Avery to Greg Jennings is easily greater than the drop-off between Adrian Peterson and Frank Gore.
I would do the original version of the trade without hesitation.
However, try it first with a weaker wide receiver.

Agreed. This is how folks need to evaluate trades. It's not just "which guy is better". What's important is how much better or worse are they going to be than your current starters. Jennings may very well double Avery's production. Gore will probably get within 25% of Peterson's #s. I would happily trade AD if I could land Gore + Jennings in return.
