San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke has confirmed the team's interest in linebackers Lance Briggs, Mason Foster, Brandon Spikes, and Erin Henderson. He also stated that no visit with Henderson has been scheduled.
The 49ers are looking to add some bodies to their linebacker corps after the surprise retirements of linebacker Patrick Willis and the man who would have been his replacement, Chris Borland. NaVorro Bowman is attempting to return to the field after suffering a devastating injury in January of last year.
The team decided to keep Ahmad Brooks rather than make him a post-June 1 cut, but head coach Jim Tomsula has said that there are no plans to move him inside at this point.
The 49ers will also have another opportunity to add some younger talent to the position in the NFL Draft which begins on April 30th. The team scheduled a visit with inside linebacker Benardrick McKinney of Mississippi State. For complete draft coverage, visit our
