McGlinchey wasn't in attendance for the 2018 NFL Draft at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. He was near his hometown with his friends and family.

"I'm with 150 of my closest family and friends at Giuseppe's Restaurant in Richboro, Pennsylvania, right near my hometown," McGlinchey told Bay Area reporters via a conference call after being selected by the San Francisco 49ers with the ninth-overall pick.

Notre Dame posted videos on the school's official Twitter account of McGlinchey's emotional reaction to being drafted.

The first video is of the tackle receiving a call from 49ers general manager John Lynch, head coach Kyle Shanahan, and owner Jed York.

The second is of McGlinchey watching his selection announced on television.

The 49ers also posted a video on the team's official Twitter account of Lynch and Shanahan speaking with McGlinchey on the phone.

H/T to Patrick Tulini for the find.
